Bob Wheatley
|
Bob was sitting in the public bar of Berowra Heights Hotel some time in the late 90¹s in his usual state of inebriation when a friend wandered in and asked him when the Manchester United air disaster was. "February 1958" he said and watched his friend wander into the other bar. "What the hell?" he thought, so he followed. As he walked through the door, some guy with a mic said "Who had the hit with this in the 80¹s?" and played "Obsession¹ by Animotion. "Football trivia and obscure 80¹s music?! I¹ve found where I belong!" said Bob to himself, whilst a tear of happiness trickled down his cheek.
So for the next few years Bob played as much trivia as was possible and enjoyed the many benefits. Well, the drinks. So when he was asked to run a trivia night for Fame Trivia in Umina in 2001 he jumped at the chance whilst his liver sighed with relief. Since then he has regularly run trivia nights
2 or 3 times a week and made far too many inappropriate jokes in amongst the questions.
If you don¹t know him from trivia, you might know him as Benny, the world¹s bounciest keyboard player from Abbalanche, one of Australia¹s premier tribute shows. Or you may have just seen him in the street and laughed quietly to yourself. That¹s OK, most people do.
When asked to name their favourite thing about Bob, most of his friends plead the 5th amendment.
Even after 10 years of running trivia, Bob still knows nothing about Geography.

Craig Barker
|
| Laying distinction to being (probably) the world's only archaeologist/trivia host, Craig also works at the museums at the University of Sydney, where he is gained a PhD in Classical Archaeology in 2003. He is the co-director of the University of Sydney's archaeological excavations of an ancient theatre in Paphos in Cyprus but has also dug on sites in Australia, Greece and Turkey, and has lectured and published on various ancient history subjects. He loves working as a trivia host so much he has been known to organise quiz nights in dighouses across the Mediterranean, especially when he is missing his regular crowds.
You can catch him on Wednesdays at the Union Hotel in Newtown and Thursdays at the Zetland Hotel in Zetland. But please don't make Indiana Jones jokes. Please!
Luckily FAME writes the questions at the quiz night, otherwise he would be inflicting you with trivial questions about his interests which include ancient Greek pottery, ska music, episodes of Doctor Who, and the films of Stanley Kubrick. Go on, ask him about 2500 year wine production methods....he dares you! Craig hopes to see you at a pub soon!

Michael Sullivan
|
| "Coming from a teaching background, I tend to be somewhat of a natural performer, good or bad, I'm not too sure, depends on the day of the week. I'm also a bit of a trivia tragic, host and player, but mainly host these days. I've been with Fame Trivia for almost 11 years now, having started just after the Sydney Olympics in 2000. I absolutely love my job, and have met some fantastic people and teams over the years. Trivia is a great way for family and friends to catch up over a bite to eat and a drink to have a laugh and put their grey matter to the test each week. I'm actually glad to be hosting as there are some tough questions in our quizzes, so I don't think my grey matter would hold up! Anyway I hope to catch you out in trivia land soon, maybe at Twin Willows Hotel on Wednesday nights or Roseville Memorial Club on Thursday nights." |

Mike Blades
|
| Mike has worked as a club & radio DJ for over 14 years, when almost 5 years ago
now, a friend who told him about trivia nights and how they needed people who
were good on a microphone to host the weekly events. So Mike rang the head
office of Australia's biggest trivia company, Fame trivia, and after a fun
interview & some intense training, Mike started his first night in Newtown. Mike
learnt the flow of a Fame trivia night and also helped out on some fill in gigs,
and moved onto hosting a second weekly night in Erskinville. Because Mike worked
some nights as a DJ this left him available to do some fill in shows for other
hosts from time to time, and soon Mike found himself doing gigs all over Sydney.
This large variety of venues & audiences has allowed Mike to really develop his
unique take on the Fame Trivia product. It is this dynamic, have-a-laugh routine
that got mike hosting the biggest trivia night in Sydney, the Fringe Bar. Since
taking over as regular host there over 3 years ago, Mike and the 120+ weekly
regulars have earned themselves the acknowledgement of #1 trivia night in Sydney
(as voted by the Sun Herald 2010). Mike loves the diverse people he meets and
the fun questions he reads at a Fame Trivia show and is always excited to see
how the crowd react to those sneaky brain teasers each & every week.
You can catch Mike and the Fame Trivia show each week at the massive Tuesday
nights in Paddington at The Fringe bar and the always fun & full house Trinity
Bar in Surry Hills every Wednesday night

| Hi...I am the Managing Director of FAME Trivia and the writer of all our quizzes. I started out as a host back in March of 1993 at the Bridgeview Hotel in Willoughby. My stint there lasted almost 14 years. Since early 2007 I have been hosting every Wednesday night at the Freeway Hotel in Artarmon. During this time I am very happy to announce that people meeting at my Trivia Nights have resulted in 9 marriages. (Call me Cupid if you will).
My brother Jonathan and I took over FAME Trivia in March 1998 and have grown the business from around 12 shows a week in Sydney to almost 130 shows a week around Australia.....which of course we are very proud of.
We certainly appreciate that the key to a great trivia business is having great staff and that we believe we have!!!
So come and see me on Wednesday nights! All first time players receive a complimentary drink. Cheers |
